You can become a member of the DS clan by clicking here. You can save all your details so you don’t have to keep measuring every time! When you come to enter your measurements on a fabric you can click "Load Saved Measurements" to retrieve them from your account. If it is the first time using our system or you'd like to change your measurements enter them manually and then click "Save Measurements".

Shipping

We use Royal Mail to ship all of our items.

You will receive an email with your tracking number once shipped.

Turnaround times can change depending on the time of year. You may have your item a lot sooner than expected or you may have it the week it’s due. You will receive an email when shipped but we work on an average of 4-6 weeks for bespoke orders and 1 week for ready to post items (should amendments need to be made). If you need an item for a special occasion which is sooner than our turnaround, get in touch via our customer service email and we will see if we can make it happen!

We ship worldwide, however, if you live in a country that usually struggles to receive international deliveries, send us an email and we can double check for you.

Your tracking number will be in your shipping email. You can track this via the Royal Mail track and trace website. If we have used another courier to send your parcel, this will be noted in your shipping email.

Sizing and Styling

Unfortunately we do not make anything outside of our own designs.

A tie front dress is belted internally around the waist (inside the dress). The belt is then pulled through the belt holes at the front of the dress and tied. A dress with normal belt holes has belt holes stitched through both sides of the fabric on either side of the waist. The belt is then tied the whole way around the waist. You can see examples of both styles when shopping.

Unfortunately, this style doesn’t work. Tie front belt wholes can only be used on closed garments such as a slash neck or v neck dress/top.

They are essentially the same garment; however, a wrap dress comes with a belt and belt holes. Therefore, it can be closed and worn as a dress, or worn open without the belt/with the belt tied at the back. A classic kimono is only able to be worn open as it does not have a belt.

All items are very generous in size so there is no risk of something being tight around here! We would advise to put both sizes on your order i.e. 22/24

This can be done however it’s not a priority service. Alterations and amendments can be very timely which is why it’s so important you ensure your measurements are correct when ordering. Alterations are charged on a case by case basis and calculated upon how much time it’ll take to complete the service. If we need to purchase more fabric then this of course adds to the price too. If the item needs to be completely remade then we will have to charge full price for the item.

We are all about comfort around here therefore all of our garments are oversized. We don’t use zips or fastenings. Elasticated waistbands are our best mate!

If you have ordered a garment in a smaller size, the sleeves will be shorter as there is less fabric in the garment and therefore less fabric to cover the arm. If you want a longer sleeve, we can make you a similar design that we have named ‘The Batwing’.  The batwing is available in all the same styles as the Yasmin, Slash neck and Wrap!

No, unless you have ordered trousers, culottes or skirts made of sheer fabric.

My Order

Yes! You can purchase an extra belt for £10 here, however, we cannot guarantee that we will still have the fabric you are looking for in stock. Unfortunately, we cannot send you belt holes through the post, so your belt will have to be worn over your kimono.

Sizing can be changed up to 24 hours after you have placed your order. Your fabric cannot be changed after 24 hours of the date you placed your order. It may be too late but please contact us here or email customerservice@donaldstanley.co.uk as you may catch us in time!

Returns and Exchanges

Donald Stanley do not accept returns unless you have purchased an RTP item (ready to post) which can be exchanged. If you would like to exchange your RTP item please email customerservice@donaldstanley.co.uk within 14 days of your purchase for more information. All other items are handmade specifically for you with the measurements/sizing/length/special requests that you have provided. On the rare occasion that a customer receives a damaged/incorrect item, we will work with them, making any necessary amendments until the item is correct. (This is why you must ensure your measurements are correct on your order). If for any reason your item does need to be returned, please ensure that it is returned unworn and in the exact condition it was received in within 14 days of your item being delivered.
